Rich in customs, folklore, food, and wine, spend the day exploring the Roman Castles’ territory. We will start at Castel Gandolfo, a Roman town situated on the Alban Hills, overlooking Lake Albano. Considered to be one of the most scenic towns in Italy, it is also home to the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo, which used to serve as a summer residence and vacation retreat for the Pope.
We will spend the afternoon exploring the impressive Castelli Romani, a medieval castle and an imposing structure dominating the skyline of Nemi and overlooking the lake. Experiencing the beauty of the surrounding landscapes and explore the magnificent Renaissance gardens. We will stroll through the town center to see the belvedere on Lake Nemi, the town square, the medieval Palazzo Ruspoli and take some time to browse in the food and wine shops.
Rome is not just the historic center that most people experience. This will give you a broader experience of what it was to be in ancient Rome, of course only if you were rich.
