Anthony DeFilippis, President & Founder

Tony is the founder and chief foodie at Pranzo Tours. He grew up eating his mother’s wonderful southern Italian cooking served in the traditions of food and family that define Italian culture. He thought he knew Italian food until he traveled to Italy fifteen years ago. He hasn’t stopped exploring since.

Tony has spent the last eight years discovering authentic Italian experiences in the nooks and crannies of his favorite locations, including carefully kept artisanal traditions in the basements of family farmhouses to large warehouses of prosciutto and cheeses. No matter where he travels, Tony finds people who want to share their passions with you.

Meet Clelia

Clelia Zolli, Puglia & Sicily Specialist

Clelia is the Puglia Specialist at Pranzo Tours. She was born in Bari, the capital of Puglia, where she worked in her family fashion business until she moved to New York City 14 years ago to open Clen Gallery, an art and design gallery.

Today, with her professional team’s help, she meticulously organizes customized Pranzo tours that highlight the finest authentic Italian experiences and destinations in Puglia. With her knowledge and passion for the region, guests are treated to the best of its history, vibrant culture, and exquisite cuisine. She also plans and manages one-of-a-kind special events, including weddings. Clelia loves to pamper the clients from the moment they arrive at their destination until their journey home.

  • Best way to start the day: At the café’ with honey cornetto and cappuccino, with ginger-flavor espresso.

  • Favorite aperitif: Spritz (Prosecco, sparkling water, lemon, and a secret ingredient).

  • Most unexpected find: Seeing the grape harvest on the roof of a Castle.

  • Friendliest place: At a convivial dinner table. Food for us is an opportunity to socialize.
  • Top travel tip: Be sure to talk to the locals, who are welcoming to travelers anywhere you go in Puglia.

Nada Tizzano, Tour Designer and Event Planner

Nada was born and raised in Italy with a passion for the Southern region where she plans itineraries in Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany, and Campania.

Nada loves to get to know her guests before she plans their travel or special event so she can customize authentic Italian experiences for them. From choosing the best local guides to selecting the most authentic dining venue, she takes care of every detail, so that Pranzo guests can experience the soul and unique flavor of each destination.

  • Best way to start the day: Day Get up late and have breakfast looking at the sea, in Sardinia.

  • Favorite aperitif: Bellini
  • Most unexpected find: Grandma’s pasta and cabbage. I only tried it when I was 26 years old, I missed out on so much!
  • Friendliest place: A shabby and half-empty restaurant on the sea, possibly in Praiano, in the winter.
  • Top travel tip: Switch off your phone, travel lightweight, and meet people!
