What I want to bring to you with Pranzo Tours is a love of Italian food and culture. With that we will travel, learn about Italian history and Italian culture along the way. I will bring you throughout Italy and parts of the US in search of great Italian food.
To truly impart my passion for Italian food, you need to understand its heavy reliance on the freshest and highest quality ingredients. You also need to understand that time, rather than technique, are its other hallmark. That time is family time. My best memories are about the family dinner table, often at the holidays, where all of the world’s problems were discussed (of course there were many simple solutions to those problems if the world leaders just joined us for dinner). The great equalizer that brought us all together, no matter what the arguments (often at very high decibel levels), was the food. It was lovingly prepared for hours or even days by a grandmother, an aunt, my mother, the women of the family (yes this was an Italian family of course in the 1960’s and 70’s). It was presented with customary fanfare and the arguments immediately ended. It was beautiful and delicious. It made us all happy. It made us all forget the world’s problems. By the time we got to dessert, we couldn’t remember what we were discussing.
